Roxburgh happy

THE Suva Darts Association received a timely boost from the Shopfittings (Fiji) Ltd for the singles competition which will be played next month in Suva.

Association president Edward Roxburgh said it was a big boost for them.

“Suva Darts Association is very grateful and pleased to have “Shopfittings (Fiji) Ltd also known as Cabinet Makers Hardware on board as a sponsor for the men’s and ladies singles competitions,” he said.

“Shopfitting (Fiji) Ltd’s support for a minor sport and sponsorship comes at a crucial time as Suva Darts teams and players battle it out for top honors mid-way through the Suva darts season.

“This competition will allow darts players to prove their worth on an even playing field where you are expected to be consistent, confident and mentally tough to come out on top after the two days of gruelling competition.”

Roxburgh said the expectations were high from teams.

“We expect players from Sharp Shooters Club and Friends United Club darts teams to dominate the competition however they cannot be complacent as there will be good challenges from a few outsiders who ranked in the top 20 on the league singles table,” he added.

“This is the second major sponsor this year and the sponsorship money will be well spent on prizes for winners of the men’s and women’s competitions.”

The competition will be held from August 12-13 at the Defence Club in Suva.
