FIJI football national coach Flemming Serristslve says fans and supporters of the Digicel Baby Bula Boys can expect a roller coaster of surprises when they take on New Zealand during the OFC Under-17 Championships at the HFC Bank Stadium tonight.

Serristslve was present with the under-17 side during a training session at the Fiji Football Association academy ground in Vatuwaqa, Suva yesterday.

Fiji will need to secure a win against New Zealand to qualify for the 2023 FIFA U17 World Cup in Peru later this year.

“You can expect a very good game and I know the boys will give their all when they play tomorrow (tonight),” he said.

“This will be a chance of a life-time for most of the players in the team, a chance to play among the best countries in the world,” Serristslve said.

“In order to counter New Zealand, the boys will need to put pressure on them from the beginning of the game until the final hooter and not to give them any chance.”

He said the boys had been training hard and had their eyes fixed on the prize — qualifying for the world cup.

“We again call out to our fans to please show up in numbers and to come show support to our boys,” Serristslve said.

The semi-final match kicks off at 7pm.

Tahiti and New Caledonia play in the first semi-final at 4pm.

Tickets are $5 and children under-10 are free.
