HELP has started to pour in for an orphanage that was destroyed by a fire in Sabeto last week.

Nadi businessman Usman Ali said the assistance for more than 50 students at the Islamic Institute was part of their ongoing work to help underprivileged communities.

“We started our work helping our community especially those who live without basic necessities,” he said.

“We are starting a group called the Robin Hood Club, which aims to assist in whatever way we can.”

Mr Ali said after learning about the blaze that destroyed two dormitories, the group started an appeal to collect funds to give to the institute.

“I visited the school as soon as I heard about the fire and I was saddened to see their beds and belongings destroyed. We wanted to do something to help and we have started collecting from our friends and partners who are also dedicated to helping people.”
