THREE men who allegedly threatened staff and a patient at a medical centre in Nadera this afternoon have been arrested.
Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro said one of the four men had allegedly walked into the medical practice and asked to see a dentist and had walked out after being advised by the doctor.
“It is alleged that seconds later he and three others armed with a cane knife had stormed into the reception area, whereby they threatened and robbed the receptionist,” Ms Naisoro said.
“It is alleged that they entered one of the doctor’s examination room whereby they threatened the doctor and a patient before stealing a mobile phone, backpacks and the receptionist’s personal belongings,” she said.
Ms Naisoro said a call was made to the Valelevu Police Station whereby all operational officers were alerted of the incident.
“The Southern Division taskforce team that were near Laqere headed towards the area and based on information gathered at the scene, they pursued the suspects on foot while another group pursued the suspects in a vehicle,” she said.
She said three of the suspects were arrested at Salagi Housing within 15 to 20 minutes of the report being received and all items believed to have been stolen has been recovered.
“The hunt continues for the fourth suspect as investigations continue.”
