The 2017 Rugby League World Cup campaign was launched at the Fiji Museum last Friday night, which attracted corporate representatives, stakeholders, sponsors and the media.
In his keynote address, FNRL chairman, Filimoni Vosarogo welcomed all invited guests and dignitaries and indicated that the FNRL is blessed to have had so many people and supporters along the way.
Vosarogo further added that through the years they have been tested by many things but they have persevered and recognized that despite the challenges they were able to reach the Rugby League World Cup semi-finals twice in a row in 2008 and 2013.
These achievements, he added, were a testament of the commitment by the players, the management, the sponsors and the supporters.
“Since the last world cup we have been working in preparation for this October; the preparatory work include the Vodafone Cup domestic tournaments, the May Test against Tonga, the upcoming Canada tour and the much anticipated Tests against Kangaroos and PNG which we will host,” said Vosarogo.
