RATU Kadavulevu School junior boy’s shot put athletes have secured a place in the 2018 Coca-Cola Games.
Nathan Tuilaucala came first with a throw of 14.72 meters while Semi Rabaro Qica settled for second place with 13.2m.
Tuicala wasn’t happy with his performance and said that he had performed better during their inter-house with a throw of 16.33m.
“This was not what I was expecting but I am glad that I’ve seen the weaknesses and after today (yesterday) I’ll go back and work on my weak areas,” he said.
“Since this is my second time appearing in the Coke Games my aim is not just to win gold or break a record but to perform to the best where I can make my family proud.
“The competition this year is not much intense compared with last year but that doesn’t mean we have to slack down as we all know what is expected from us and we will work towards archiving our target,” the Vanua Levu lad said.
For Qica he hopes to move past his fellow athletes and claim first place.
“It is always tough when you compete against your fellow teammates, but the aim is win gold for the school,” he says.
