RKS crushes Davuilevu’s dream

RATU Kadavulevu School (RKS) beat Lelean Memorial School 14-6 in the Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby Union’s Eastern Zone under-18 semi-final at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori yesterday.
RKS was awarded two penalties in the fifth and 20th minute. They led led 6-0 after conversions from fullback Joji Sisi.
In the 22nd minute, LMS half-back Alekisa Caginitoba slotted a penalty to see scores at 6-3.
Meanwhile the match also saw yellow cards flashed to LMS’ right wing Varasiko Magaverau and RKS centre Sevanaia Dakua. In the 57th minute, RKS’ prop Ratu Esira Boseturaga scored to push the scores 11-3 before Lelean replied with a penalty to fly half Ratu Vilitati Silatolu to close the gap 11-6.
Discipline let LMS down as one of its players, Ifereimi Marawa was penalised for a high tackle that resulted in a penalty to RKS which also secured the match 14- 6.
RKS principal Peni Senikarawa said they would now focus on next week’s game.
“One down, one more to go. QVS is a champion team and we have another week of training and preparation for the final,” Senikarawa said.
