RISHIKUL Sanatan College created history yesterday when they won the U19 grade for the Nasinu Zone secondary School netball competition.

Rishikul edged International Secondary School 14-9 to secure the win.

Trainer, Dan Vakamoce said this was the first time they’ve entered into this competition and he was extremely proud of the girls’ efforts.

“First of all we would like to take this time to thank the Almighty God for the strength that enabled the girls to secure the victory today (yesterday),” he said.

“Yes we have witnessed that they’ve won the game, they have come prepared also this is the first time they’ve entered into the competition and have come out victorious.”

He said although the girls had necessary skills to play the game they lacked fitness and this was something they worked hard on throughout the competition.

“We focused on the fitness and the girls have really given their all during the weekdays and even the school they really supported the girls and with the many fitness tests we’ve taken as witnessed during the game they really held it together up until the last quarter,” he said.

He also acknowledges the support of the school administration towards the team.

Vakamoce said come next week they would continue with their preparations for the Central Eastern Rally at the end of the month.
