REPUBLIC of the Fiji Military Forces Chief of Staff Brigadier-General Jone Kalouniwai says they will continue to provide security for the FijiFirst government they are about to enter their second term of another four years.
His comments came after party leader Voreqe Bainimarama was sworn in as Prime Minister at the State House in Suva this morning.
Brig-Gen Kalouniwai said they would continue to provide the support that the government required.
“It doesn’t change anything for us. As we said that we will support the government of the day with the honourable Prime Minister coming into the second term.
We will continue to provide the support they require in terms of security and we will continue to stand by that and support the police in whatever role they play,” he said.
The event was also attended by the RFMF Commander, Rear Admiral Viliame Naupoto, Fiji Corrections Services Commissioner Commander Francis Kean, and Fiji Navy Maritime Commander Ledua Yaco.
