The Social Democratic Liberal Party’s sources of revenue has dropped by 63 per cent, says party president Ratu Epenisa Cakobau.

He said the downturn in Fiji’s economy as the result of COVID-19 and the suspension of SODELPA MP’s remuneration had a serious impact and decline in the party’s financial status and primary sources of income.

Ratu Epenisa said the party’s source of revenue had declined by $28,864.

He said there was a need for the party to diversify its future fundraising activities locally and overseas.

“These events are not only about raising funds but also it contributes strongly to the promotion of the SODELPA brand, our goals, objectives and in developing community awareness and partnerships especially with the youths,” he said.

The party’s annual general meeting is currently underway at the Lami Convention Centre.
