THE Digicel Junior Bula Boys’ 1-4 loss to the Solomon Islands U23 national side in the Tri-Nations FIFA International Friendlies at Churchill Park in Lautoka on Monday did not have an impact on the team.

Head coach Ronil Lal said he was not disappointed with the loss. The hosts side scored its lone goal in the 30th minute of the first half through Abdullah Aiyas.

“I am not disappointed about our defeat as we have learned a lot from the match,” Lal said after the game.

“There are a lot of positives we are taking from playing against a more experienced team and we will work on those areas.

“We have seen what we lack today (Monday) and will work on it before our next match.” He said playing against a senior and stronger team was good for the boys.

“We are using this friendly as part of our preparation for the FIFA U20 World Cup to be played in Indonesia in May,” he said.

Meanwhile, later on Monday evening, the Bula Boys also went down 1-2 to Vanuatu. The Samuela Navice-captained side will take on Digicel Bula Boys in its second match tomorrow at 2pm at Churchill Park in Lautoka.
