LAUTOKA Hospital Children’s Ward came alive yesterday when staff members of the Shangri-La’s Fijian Resort & Spa made a surprise Valentine’s Day visit to about 20 children admitted at the facility.

The visit was accompanied by gifts, prayers, songs and dances for the little ones.

Resort spa manager Nirmala Naidu said the annual program was about spreading love to children going through a difficult moment in life.

“We started yesterday at the Sigatoka Hospital and today we visited Nadi and Lautoka hospitals,” Ms Naidu said.

“While many Fijian couples are spending Valentine’s Day in a special way, some parents are going through a hard time with their kids in the hospital.”

She said the visit was part of the resort’s corporate social responsibility.

More than 15 staff members of the Coral Coast-based resort were part of the event.
