Management and staff members of Daku Resort in Savusavu have a reason to celebrate being the first in Vanua Levu to notch up 1000 Trip Advisor reviews.
Resort owner Delia Rothnie-Jones said this was a great achievement despite the fact that Vanua Levu represented a tiny percentage of visitors to Fiji.
“But this is a further indication that many visitors to Fiji, particularly those from the USA, are keen to experience a different Fiji,” Ms Rothnie-Jones said.
“The numbers of tourists to Savusavu are on the rise as more and more flights are being arranged.
“All major resorts and guest houses are seeing numbers on the rise and not just Daku Resort.”
Mrs Rothnie-Jones who is also the Savusavu Tourism Association president, said their members have reported full capacity booking.
“So we have had really good months with most accommodation providers reporting very full booking,” she said.
