RESOLVING land problems in Fiji is still time consuming compared with other legal problems.

This is according to the report that was released last week Friday on Justice Needs and Satisfaction in Fiji.

The survey further elaborated that almost two thirds of land disputes are on-going, indicating that the process to resolution is lengthy and time consuming.

It also stated that the differences between trying to resolve the problem through self-action, one’s social network or institutions has a significant impact on resolution rates.

A total of 4,910 individuals from around Fiji took part in this survey.
