PRESIDENT of the Roads Haulage Association Hector Smith has called on its members to resolve issues through dialogue.

He made this comment at the association’s annual general meeting at Novotel Hotel in Lami earlier today.

This came after some of its outspoken members called for strike in order to resolve issues faced by the association.

“I’ve been part of the association since 2015 and this has been referred to me many times, my philosophy and the association’s philosophy is not to strike,” Mr Smith said.

“We don’t want to hurt the country, we just want Government to hear our plight that is the extra loading.

“The everyday person that is innocent of this regulation will suffer, it doesn’t earn us anything.”

Kwikshift Earthworks & Machinery Hire director Ayum Ali said all their grievances have fallen on deaf ears.
