THE Resilience under-15 rugby 7s team dominated the Nadroga Sevens tournament when the Natabua High School students bagged another title in two weeks participating in local 7s tournaments.

The Lautoka-based side clinched the under-15 title at Lawaqa Park creating another upset after the Ba West Kids claimed the under-13 title.

The Natabua side won the under-15 grade at the Wadigi 7s last weekend and claimed the Nadro 7s on Wednesday.

Coach Raikiwasa Loanakadavu was a proud man after the win as he dedicated the victory to the Natabua family.

“To all the teachers, students and parents of Natabua High School, we dedicate this win and last week’s victory to all of you and we hope that this is an early Christmas present to everyone.

“Our participation is focused on composure and exposure of these young talents as they groom themselves to next year’s Deans competition,” said Loanakadavu.

” Impressed with the idea of the tournament, Loanakadavu acknowledged the Nadroga Rugby Union for always highlighting the importance of grassroots development.

“I thank the organising committee and the Nadroga Rugby Union for hosting this event that focuses on the grassroots level and I believe I speak for everyone coaching the lower grades that this event has unearthed talents that could be groomed at an early age to becoming the best sevens players in the world in five to eight years’ time,” he said.

“Lastly, I would like to say a big vinaka vakalevu to The Fiji Times for always exposing grassroots rugby across the country and making sure these young talents are recognised.”
