Ba football team head coach Imdad Ali says they will not let rumours swirling around on social media about their new management affect their performance in this weekend’s 2022 Courts Inter-District Championship.

“All of the teams have been preparing well and so are we but there are drawbacks in Ba which people know about like we have lost so many of our good players,” he said.

“But then still Ba is one place where we produce players and hopefully the other districts are ready to get our players. It all depends on where they get better money and I think the boys are also looking for greener pastures as well.”

He said despite their challenges, he had full confidence in their management to bring in more talented players.

“Ba Football Association is looking after its players very well. With the new management that has come in and there is no doubt that Ba is looking after their players.

“You know the rumours over social media, 99 per cent of it is all false and just want to vouch for it.

“Probably when I get another time or another chance to speak to the media I would tell them and probably the people of this nation that there are a lot of rumours and a lot of bad influence around us.

“But the boys are standing up tall. Training has been hard and they have been really into and we have prepared well for the IDC and hopefully we will do well in the IDC.”

The 2022 Courts IDC will be played from October 5-10 at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
