FIJIAN businesses are losing between $89,000 to $844,000 annually depending on average staff salaries and the company’s size due to staff being late, absent or distracted due to childcare responsibilities, says the International Finance Corporation.

And the IFC says providing access to childcare services at the workplace or offering employees with young children flexible hours would benefit parents, employers and the economy.

These findings can be found in an IFC report called ‘The Business Case for Employer Supported Childcare.’

More reports in today’s edition of The Fiji Times.
