Repair works start at Savusavu Jetty

Update: 3:35PM WORKS at the Savusavu Jetty have commenced and ships will be able to berth from tomorrow morning onwards.
Fiji Roads Authority’s communications officer Zafiya Shamim said the front of the jetty ramp has been compromised and the existing steel ramp cannot be relied upon to provide support for its full width.
“Part of the ramp only will be able to be used once FRA contractors create a temporary access, and FRA contractors will establish access on the adjacent higher jetty head to allow other ships to berth here at high tide,” he said.
