Repair works complete, students celebrate

Seventy students of Galoa Island Primary School and their families celebrated the official handover of their classrooms, which were fully repaired following rehabilitation works carried out by the Australian Defence Force engineers and the Republic of Fiji Military Forces officers on Monday.

The new classrooms included desks and chairs given by the ADF has renewed hope for the seventy students of Galoa Island Primary School, which was severely damaged by STC Yasa last month.

Rehabilitation works by the Australian engineers and the RFMF started on December 31 with the removal of debris from the school’s premises after which full repair works followed.

Repair works were done to the two classrooms, an administration office, a kitchen as well as the school’s hostel block.
