THE renewable energy arm of Vision Investments Ltd, Vision Energy Solutions (VES) believes that meeting government’s renewable energy goal of 99 per cent by 2030 will require bold vision and collaboration among committed partners nationally and in the region.

Vision Energy Solutions’ Business Development manager Srinath Dolage said: “As our business name implies, Vision Energy Solutions plans to lead these visionary energy solution collaborations in the region”.

A statement from the company said it was leading Fiji’s renewable energy sector by introducing high-tech and intelligent solar power systems to the country with a primary objective to bring reliable and clean electricity where it is needed most, throughout the Small Island Developing States (SIDS.)

It said in order to meet the challenge of 99 per cent renewable energy by 2030, two of the largest and established companies in Fiji, Vision Investments Ltd and Jack’s Group of Companies, have partnered to help achieve the 2030 renewable energy goal to combat climate change.

The companies together, hope to set an example for other large companies throughout the country.

Jack’s Group of Companies, Group Commercial manager Ronald Nair said: “It seemed like the right thing to do for our employees, customers and nation, not to mention the planet!

“Consumers have a lot of choices and being a socially and environmentally responsible company is one of Jack’s competitive differentiators. Tourists and locals will hopefully notice and appreciate our efforts to invest in clean energy production,” said Mr Nair.

“This project is a good example of bringing global innovation to improve Fiji,” said Mr Dolage

“VES always strives to be responsible corporate citizens and we take pride in identifying and introducing beneficial technology in a timely manner. We hope to provide this technology to many more companies and households,” he said.

What makes this large commercial project leading edge is that fact that it uses the first-ever intelligent inverter system installed in Fiji.

The solar PV system is powered by world-class modern inverters and power optimisers.

The inverters are the “brain” of the system and manage production.

Therefore, the inverter selection is critical for the long-term financial performance of a PV system, as it can maximise energy production and reduce lifetime costs.
