THE Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association says Rosie Holidays continuing efforts to attract more segments of the Chinese visitor market to the country were commendable.
Association president Dixon Seeto said Rosie Holidays’ chartered flight service over the past two years, combined with its latest effort which would result in more than 1200 sales agents holidaying in the country for six days, was remarkable.
“I congratulate Tony and his team at Rosies for enticing an increasing number of Chinese visitors to the country,” Mr Seeto said.
“This is very innovative MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions) marketing on Rosies part and this exercise creates demand and hopefully this leads to direct services to Fiji.
“We’ve seen a steady increase in Chinese visitors to Fiji and given their international profile, they are among the highest spenders in terms of purchasing and activities. And this is what tourism is all about — creating more economic activity and increasing foreign exchange earnings.”
More than 1200 sales agents from Chinese herbal health company Infinitus will arrive into the country in six chartered and scheduled flights on Fiji Airways and Korea Air beginning on Sunday.
The agents are being rewarded for outstanding sales achievements with a six-day holiday in the country.
