MORE than 4000 vendors will benefit from the waiver of municipal market stall fees until the end of this month.
Local Government Minister Parveen Kumar visited markets in the Western Division this week and held discussions with municipal councils and vendors before making the announcement.
“Considering the request from the councils and most especially the vendors, Government has decided to waive stall fees until April 30,” he said.
“We understand there has been a shortage of vegetables and this will help vendors provide for their families without being burdened with fees for this month.”
Mr Kumar said the waiver was for markets from Sigatoka to Rakiraki in the Western Division and Labasa and Savusavu in the North.
