Reddy to coach Labasa

BAL Sanju Reddy has been appointed the new head coach for the Labasa football side ahead of the 2018 Vodafone Premier League.

Varun Anand, the Labasa Football secretary confirmed the appointment.

Reddy recently assisted the Lions during their Pillays Garment Champion versus Champion series campaign.

“Bal Sanju Reddy has been appointed as the new head coach for the Labasa side,” Anand said.

“He is not someone new to Labasa football. He has coached the side in the past and was ready to accept the position. We had approached other coaches as well, but we did not reach an agreement.”

Following the CVC victory, Anand says their focus has now turned towards the league competition.

Labasa travels to Viti Levu this week and will face Rewa and Suva. Anand says the recent weather conditions may cause some disturbance.

“Weather will cause some training disruptions but I guess our opponents will face a similar problem. It will be tough to play two games in a weekend but end of the day it is not something that we are doing for the first time but have done in the past,” he said.

“The CVC victory was sweet and the players, hardworking officials including manager Nilesh Lal must be thanked.”
