THE Fiji Corrections Service will conduct awareness programs in areas it has identified as red zones.
FCS spokeswoman Kuini Waqaisavou said the red zone areas were places where most of the inmates that corrections centres received lived in and were crime infested areas.
She said most of the areas classified in the red zone areas were Veiraisi settlement in Nadera, Veiquwawa settlement in Raiwasa, Wailea settlement in Vatuwaqa and Wailoku.
On Thursday night a team from the FCS visited Wailoku where they conducted the workshop.
Talking to more than 100 residents from around the Wailoku area, FCS community liaison officer Sitiveni Raitamata urged parents to openly communicate with their children and to always spend quality time with their loved ones.
