Recycling pioneer passes on

The managing director of a renowned recycling company, Waste Recyclers (Fiji) Pte Ltd Peter Bray has passed on.

The company’s consultant and close friend Amitesh Deo confirmed that Mr Bray passed away in Australia.

Mr Deo said Mr Bray was born on September 15, 1939, and had been in Fiji since 1993.

“He was a pioneer in recycling in Fiji. His expertise and passion in the recycling industry saw the start of the first-ever recycling company in Fiji and to date Waste Recyclers (Fiji) Pte Ltd remains committed to serving as a recycler.

“Peter was a person of great strength, true passion and perseverance.”

Mr Deo described him as one who spoke his mind and expected the same from his colleagues.

“He will always be remembered for his visionary character and strong leadership and will be missed greatly by people who knew him,” he said.

“Peter Bray passed away on Sunday 12th July after a short illness. He is survived by his four children.”
