This year’s World Tourism Day comes at a time when Fiji’s tourism recovery is well on track and exceeding forecasts.

Tourism Fiji shared this yesterday as local tourism stakeholders celebrated this significant day and marked Fiji as a safe, wonderful destination to travel to.

“We’re so pleased that many tourists have chosen to come to Fiji since the start of the year,” a Tourism Fiji executive shared.

“We are also hearing from our Tourism partners such as Fiji Airways that bookings continue to be solid through the end of the year, which is great news.

“This is a significant day to reflect on where we have been and where we are now. This time last year we were planning for opening, but still had no tourists.”

Tourism Fiji stated the continuous growth of the local sector was exciting for everyone and everyone was grateful to have tourists back and to do what they love best!

“Tourism Fiji’s message is one of gratefulness, and looking ahead with optimism.

“It was a team effort to get to this point, and there were so many who contributed to get the tourism industry to where it is today.

“So today is really special, a time to reflect with gratefulness for what we have been able to attract to Fiji already, and looking ahead to what is to come.”

To reflect on this special day, Tourism Fiji and local stakeholders took to the social media and held internal celebrations to mark their achievements so far.
