Ready for battle

WITH all preparations done and dusted our Fiji national men’s rugby league nines gladiators are ready to do their country proud and bring back glory for the nation at the 2019 Pacific Games in
Samoa.

“There is nothing more that can be said, and the onus is now to put our words into action,” said team coach Vulaono Dakuitoga.

“The players know what is expected of them and I know they will deliver.”

Dakuitoga said the team had endured many hardships on the road to Samoa but every obstacle faced and only added fuel to the fire and morale was higher than ever.

“We did face a lot of stumbling blocks on our buildup with funding and meals, but we are grateful for the large support and numerous good Samaritans along the way that have enabled us to reach
where we are now.”

Dakuitoga said his players were raring to go and each one knew exactly their role to play in the greater picture.

“We have ironed out weaknesses throughout the week,” he said.

“The boys are ready and we will be bringing back the glory for our country and for God.”

Meanwhile, they spent their last free day in the Capital City giving back to the environment and joined Vodafone Fiji’s 25th birthday celebrations in planting more than 2000 mangrove seedlings at
the Suva foreshore on Wednesday.
