THE REACH (Government’s Rights, Empowerment And Cohesion) program has reached a total of 719 communities in the 120 districts across the 14 provinces in Fiji and Rotuma.
Ministry for Social Welfare, Children and Poverty Alleviation permanent secretary Dr Josefa Koroivueta highlighted this at a REACH Capacity Building workshop at the Centre for Appropriate Technology and Development (CATD) in Nadave.
“REACH will be the solution to bridge the challenges and with the integrated approach that REACH is moving into, it provides a more effective and efficient service delivery approach during the outreach sessions,” Dr Koroivueta said.
The workshop focused on strengthening participants’ capacity to be more gender inclusive, reflecting on opportunities for improvement and developing qualitative indicators that will accommodate the plights of the vulnerable groups during service delivery.
Participants at the workshop included representatives from the Ministry of Rural and Maritime Development, Provincial Councils, Fiji Police Force, Fiji Association for the Deaf and Ministry of Justice.
