Update: 3:54PM ASPIRATIONAL attitudes are a necessary tool for countries that want to embrace new technology.
Ministry of Education permanent secretary Alison Burchell said the Fijian Government believed it was necessary to rise above a ‘developing world’ mentality.
She explained that ‘aspirational attitudes’ keep an economy reaching for more whereas those who work with a ‘developing world’ mentality would stay at that level.
Ms Burchell was speaking at the opening of the Regional Blockchain TechCamp earlier this afternoon at the University of the South Pacific.
The PS stood in for the Attorney General, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, who was scheduled to open the event.
She said the Fijian Government was working towards a government structure mirrored on the Singaporean government, which provides many services on an electronic platform.
