Ravoravo Rabbitohs to name final squad tomorrow

DEFENDING Vodafone Cup champions, Ravoravo Rabbitohs will name its final squad on Wednesday (tomorrow) for the annual Melanesian Club Challenge.

The current squad of 22 will be trimmed to 17 as the side prepares from its camp at the Melanesian Hotel in Namaka.

The Sivaniolo Varo coached side is not facing any major injury concerns and are in a positive mental state.

The competition in the team is intense as the final countdown nears on the selection of the chosen ones.

The last two days preceding the much anticipated match will see a toned down training sessions in an effort to make the boys feel at ease before battle proper on Saturday.

The Melanesian Club Championship will be held at Churchill Park in Lautoka on Saturday 29th February and it is the first time the Ravoravo Rabbitohs will be participating.

Tikiko Noke’s former rugby league club the Lae Snax Tigers will battle the Ravoravo Rabbitohs in the 2020 Melanesian Club Championship.

Tikiko Noke played prop for the Lae Snax Tigers and was a key player in the club’s heroics in the 2019 Digicel Cup in the Papua New Guinea Rugby League Competition.

Lae Biscuit Company sponsored outfit Lae Snax Tigers will be flying the Papua New Guinea flag, aiming to continue a legacy – a legacy whereby no Fijian rugby league club has won the Melanesian Club Championship, which rugby league club’s in Papua New Guinea claim as their own.
