JOSATEKI Ratukaudale of Sacred Heart College is the fastest athlete in the Suva Zone 1 competition after winning the senior boys 100m final at the ANZ Stadium in Suva yesterday.

Susana Nakama of Ballantine Memorial School, on the other hand, won the senior girls 100m final.

Ratukaudale said he was surprised with the victory.

“I was not sure if I would be able to win this event. I have been preparing well and really pleased,” he said.

He topped the Tavua Zone last year to qualify for the Coca-Cola Games.

“Last year I was at Tavua College, this year I was able to top the Suva zone and I am looking forward to the Fiji Finals,” he said.

“I cannot guarantee that I will win a medal, but I can say that I will set a standard,” he said.

The games will be at the ANZ Stadium in Suva from April 19-21.
