Ratu misses out

BA will miss the services of top choice goalkeeper Josaia Ratu for the Vodafone Premier League clash against Tavua at Garvey Park this Sunday.

Ratu copped a red card in the last VPL match with Labasa. The team resumed training yesterday. Ba team manager Arvin Singh said many of their players were affected by the recent floods. Singh said there were no injury concerns. “The players suffered a lot of loss during the flood and did not have time to train,” he said.

“Fitness is what we will be working on this week. Tavua will be tough to beat. They are of unknown quality. “The VPL has restarted after a long break so the teams will be rusty. We will miss Ratu but there are capable replacements.” Ba has six points from three matches while Tavua has one win from four games. Northerners Labasa and Dreketi will be travelling to Viti Levu for two games this weekend. On Friday at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori, Dreketi will play Rewa at 5.30pm while Suva will battle with Labasa at 7.30pm.

At the same venue on Sunday, Suva will play Dreketi at 1pm and Rewa will face Labasa at 3pm. The Ba and Tavua clash will also kick off at 3pm.
