THE Ratu Filise rugby 7s team is hoping all their injured players will be fit to take part in this weekend’s Fiji Bitter Nawaka 7s tournament.
The club has produced renowned players not only in the province of Nadroga but for Fiji and also around the world.
Players such as Noa Nadruku, Isei Nasiganiyavi, Nemani Nadolo, Temesia Kaumaia, former Fiji Bati brothers Kaliova and Alipate Tani, Tevita Kuridrani, Etika Tovilevu, Sirilo Lala and Lote Tuqiri to name a few all hail from Namatakula Village.
This season the club lost most of its seasoned 7s players but the process of hunting newcomers to the club is still the aim of the Ratu Filise side.
The club named 20 members who have been put through two weeks of intensive training to get a formidable side.
Four key players were out of action in the Fiji Rugby Union Super 7s Series last week.
Leveni Tani, Aborosia Naiqamu, prop forward Ereqe Nadruguvolili and utility player Peni Valo.
“It is a hard decision for the management team to make these changes taking into account the role this four players play,” the club reported on its Facebook page.
The newlook Ratu Filise set up includes Josese Yaya, Sireli Daivalu, Irimo Baikeirewa, Poniani Dabobo, Josateki Dawai, Mesake Seavula, Vetaia Natoga, Soropepeli Cokanasiga, Kalaveti Cavukai, Jonetani Vasurakuta, Nemia Nawave, Ifereimi Tovilevu, Sikeli Votonisiga, Eseroma Rikou, Wame Ratuva.
The side will be coached by Etika Tovilevu.
