Being bestowed with the Fiji 50th Independence Anniversary commemorative medal is a blessing, says former politician and television personality Manoa Rasigatale.

The 73-year-old thanked Government for recognising his contributions to the country.

“I am grateful that even though we are growing old, we are still recognised for our tireless efforts in the country.”

Mr Rasigatale said he was also bestowed an independence medal by the late Ratu Sir Kamisese Mara 25 years ago.

He thanked his wife and family for being his tower of strength.

Mr Rasigatale’s career objective is to preserve and promote Fijian culture, traditions and performing arts.

Mr Rasigatale was a former member of the Senate of Fiji and represented Rewa.
