Majority of the boats that have come through the Blue Lane initiative have been from United States, says Port Denarau Marina CEO Cynthia Rasch.

She made this comment during a discussion convened by the United Stated Embassy on Fiji’s Blue Lane Initiative in Denarau, Nadi, today

“Out of the 313 people, as of October 21, that have entered through Fiji through the Blue Lane, most of them are American citizens,” Ms Rasch said.

She said it was encouraging to note that US Ambassador to Fiji Joseph Cella had been marketing Fiji as a travel destination to the outside world.

“The US ambassador is trying to get the word out there that Fiji is open, especially to American yachties speculating on visiting Fiji.”

She said these discussions were leading to a great partnership that would boost Fiji’s economy sooner than later.
