THE North West Billiards and Snooker Association has received an overwhelming response for the Phil’s Autoport-sponsored second Rankings Championship which starts today.
More than 40 players have registered for the two-day competition.
Because of the high number of participants, the matches will be played at the South Seas and Lautoka clubs.
Association’s president Suresh Chauhan said the players would be divided into eight pools.
Chauhan said Shalend Raju from Tavua, Shalend Scotty from Sigatoka and Rocky Ali from Olosara would pose a threat to the top seeds.
“Nitesh Chand, Vikrant Sharma and Mahend Deo are among the favourites for the title,” he said.
“All four tables at both clubs will be utilised.
“Points will be awarded to the players after the event.”
Matches will start at 9am.
