A SENIOR healthcare official battling the coronavirus daily from the frontlines has pleaded with the public to be responsible and follow advice on COVID-19 medical advice.

Ministry of Health head of health protection Dr Aalisha Sahukhan made the plea immediately after three of her Fiji Centre for Disease Control (CDC) team tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday.

“We may not do everything perfectly every time but believe me we are doing all our best to help you,” she said.

“Please help us. Please listen to advice, please wash your hands with soap and water, please stay home, please wear a mask if you leave the house and download the careFiji app if you have a smart phone.”

Meanwhile, Health Ministry permanent secretary Dr James Fong announced one new positive COVID-19 case last night.
