THE Australian rugby team is shivering at the mention of the Flying Fijians’ squad to the Rugby World cup in Japan.

It is powerpack and can even topple the Wallabies in their encounter in Japan later in the year.

Wallabies forwards coach and former Flying Fijians skipper, Simon Raiwalui, knows how deadly the assembled squad could be in Tokyo.

He said the squad indicated that Fiji was running in the right direction and teams like his own should be wary.

“One of the benefits Fiji has is to be able to develop those second tier players and get them up to the level where they are competing with guys who play regular top notch rugby,” the former Fiji looseman said.

“When you look at the names that are coming through, Fiji doesn’t only have a pack that can match any in the world but it can dominate upfront.

“It is an interesting mix of talent and those young guys playing in France and New Zealand are coming in with that experience.”

Australia and Fiji are in the same pool in the RWC.
