THE Labasa football team is facing ground problems ahead of this weekend’s Vodafone Premier League match because of inclement weather in the North.
The side is facing ground problems to train for its match against Ba at home on Saturday.
Subrail Park is closed because of continuous rain.
“We are unable to get a ground because most of them have been closed because of the bad weather,” Labasa football secretary Varun Anand said.
“The players are just doing some hill and road running.”
Assistant coach Pita Levaci said they looked forward to play against Ba.
“I know that the boys are dedicated when it comes to their games, especially with our key players such as Antonio Tuivuna, Christopher Wasalasala and Ratu Apenisa Anare.
“The problem we have is finding a ground that we can use for training.
“This week we have been given a spot, but it’s the Naseakula District School driveway in Labasa,” Levaci said.
It is a short street paved with concrete, and is on a hill.
“The boys are doing well and we have to improve on a few areas before the game.
“Ba is a good team and I don’t want to underestimate them.”
Labasa will host Ba at Subrail Park at 1.30pm on Saturday.
