NASESEVIA Secondary School (NSS) in Nadi has been exposed to top level competition after taking part at the Ratu Navula College inter-house competition at Lautoka’s Churchill Park yesterday.
School principal Mesulame Uluimoala said the main reason of the change in their athletics strategy was to expose their athletes against top athletes.
He said the competition would also best gauge their athletes’ performance before the Nadi Zone. “The reason we came today was to expose our students,” said Uluimoala.
“Ratu Navula is the Nadi champion and we want to participate at their inter-house so we can adjust on what to do before the zone meet.
“And we will come back to the Nadi zone we will come back strong and I am very happy with the performance and also with our exposure to the competition today.
“Another reason we want to compete is because we don’t have the crowd and I believed we have achieved our aim today.”
Meanwhile, Nasesevia sprinters Kesaia Lovoni and Aviame Cawi ruled the inter girls 200m during the inter-house yesterday.
The two young girls outpaced all the Ratu Navula runners to win the gold and silver medals.
Kesaia won the gold and Cawi finished second as both girls have set their eyes on the Nadi Zone.
