Rabuka to Bainimarama: Let’s work together

OPPOSITION Leader Sitiveni Rabuka held out an olive branch to his coup counterpart Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama to work together and give back to the people of Fiji a country they would be proud of.
Mr Rabuka said, “the two leaders of the coups of 1987 and 2006 are on opposite sides of this August house.”
The President, Jioji Konrote, called on the leaders and members of the house to work together for peace, stability and prosperity.
“Madam Speaker, I now call on the honourable Prime Minister to accept my offer as leader of the loyal opposition of the Parliament of Fiji, the two of us as coup leaders of 1987 and 2006, to work together and give back to the people of Fiji, the Fijians, a country they can all be proud of, a land of hope and glory to endure whate’ere befalls …” said Mr Rabuka.
