QVS retains title in schools event

THE Queen Victoria School under-19 boys team has retained the the Vodafone Tanoa Challenge Trophy yesteday after defeating Assemblies of God High School 18-10 in Suva.

The two schools met in the fifth round of the South Eastern Zone Secondary Schools Rugby League competition at Buckhurst Ground at Laucala Bay, Suva.

QVS coach Isimeli Koroi said: “The achievement has made us proud and it is through the hard work and consistency of the boys.”

The Vulinitu boys remain undefeated in the competition.

“That is a good sign as we build up to qualify for the nationals. Our next team to play against is John Wesley College. With the theme ‘Rebuilding’ the school hopes to take Queen Victoria School back to its glory days.”
