Flood safety

Further to the query from Sukha Singh in his letter titled, “Flood safety” published in The Fiji Times on Monday, April 16, 2018, we would like to remind everyone that it is never safe to play in floodwaters irrespective of cables being there or not.

Hope the above clarifies.

Netball Fiji

Netball has put Fiji on an unenviable position on the Commonwealth Games map for the wrong reasons after its recent performances in the tournament leading up to the games and at the actual games.

Perhaps the management and the coach would have an explanation which the public would be most interested in. I thought that netball had generally improved in past years but the overall performance of the team has now reached, in my opinion, the lowest level.

I believe we can only rise up from our current position and drastic changes are needed in the management and coaching staff.

Good effort

We went to all battle fronts sending in our best and tough gladiators to all HSBC tournaments then the Commonwealth Games. We thank you for the great scenario at the Gold Coast.

You played well. Tremendous effort. I also am not forgetting our sevens girls.

Vinaka also for the wonderful performances. Thank you both Tanivula and Baber.

Thank you

A big vinaka vakalevu to our national sevens rugby team for reaching the final, as we all know that we took our number one squad to defend Hong Kong, while the other teams such as NZ, England, South Africa, Australia didn’t.

But our boys managed to win something from Gold Coast, rather than nothing. We must accept the fact that the gold eluded us one more time, and we must try again in four years time in Birmingham, UK.

A big vinaka vakalevu to you Gareth Baber and the boys for the game, and also to Tanivula and the Fijiana team for your efforts.

Support Fiji.

About the ref

Once again I read on Facebook about the referee who controlled the Commonwealth Games men’s 7s final.

People are saying bad things about him. Is it something he did wrong or are some of us just bad losers?

Achievement

With two tournaments back to back, achievement was super. Vinaka boys.
