Businesses are now required to display near the entrance a unique digital geo-identification indicator, through the use of a QR code on the careFIJI app, to capture customers entering and leaving their facility.

The Ministry of Commerce, Trade, Tourism and Transport (MCTTT) rolled this out as part of the COVID safe business operations.

MCTTT said the usage of the QR code “supports your business by reducing manual effort needed to log entry and exit of each and every visitor”.

“All customers shall be required to scan the QR code using their careFIJI application when visiting the business location, whereby phone number and the time of entry and exit will be recorded.”

Businesses have to register on the careFIJI check-in portal to obtain a unique QR code for their business.

“This system is designed to ease the MoHMS (Ministry of Health and Medical Services) in contact tracing.”
