Qiliho thanks female police officers on mission

Update: 3:01PM COMMISSIONER of Police Brigadier-General Sitiveni Qiliho thanked five women police officers who will be part of a 10-member team deployed for a tour of duty under the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS).

“This is the first time such a high number of women officers are part of any contingent and this makes me happy that more women are confidently stepping up to the challenge of serving overseas,” he said.

As of today, there are 16 police officers serving in three missions under the United Nations banner which are Regional Assistance Mission to Solomon Islands (RAMSI), United Nations Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) and the UNMISS.
