FORMER iTaukei Land Trust Board general manager Alipate Qetaki has urged the iTaukei people to vote for a party that will serve their needs especially native land rights.

Speaking at a SODELPA campaign rally at Namata village in Tailevu last night, he said he had worked for iTLTB for 15 years.

“All together I worked for Government for more than 30 years and when I am talking on issues regarding iTaukei land rights, I am very familiar with the status of native land rights now,” Mr Qetaki said.

He also put emphasis on the need to revive the Senate where anything concerning iTaukei land rights were discussed.

Mr Qetaki added there was a need to bring back the Great Council of Chiefs where matters concerning iTaukeis were resolved.

He was the Attorney General in 1987 and was appointed the Minister for Justice in the Qarase government.
