Positive vibes all around!
We had our first international friendly match since 2019 and the Digicel Bula Boys meant business.
A good 3-0 win against Vanuatu has set the platform going, giving a picture to our coaching staff as to how much is being applied by the players from what they go through during the training sessions and the areas that need to be worked on.
And this was the first international game for our national head coach, Flemming Serristlev, who joined in 2020 and unfortunately could not play any internationals because of the rising COVID-19 pandemic.
The Digicel Premier League goal-scoring machine of Sairusi Nalaubu netted a hat-trick.
A great teamwork. But the job is not done yet and the players have been reminded about this.
It was still daylight when the team was travelling to the match venue in the bus and we got to see a lot more things. One highlight was one of the official match venues for the upcoming FIFA World Cup – Stadium 974.
As reported by qatar2022.qa, Stadium 974’s innovative design is inspired by Qatar’s worldwide trade and seafaring.
974 is the international dialing code for Qatar, as well as the exact number of shipping containers used in construction.
The innovative 40,000-seat venue has a remarkable design, and will be the first fully demountable tournament venue in FIFA World Cup history.
Meanwhile, it’s already our sixth day in Qatar and we are yet to see blue sky during the day.
