WILL the Hibiscus Festival take place this year is the question left unanswered by event organisers as the public is still in the dark on the date of the festival.

Dubbed as the “Mother of all Festivals”, the premium event is normally held this time of the year.

While many are still wondering about the actual date and venue, the chairman of the Hibiscus Festival executive committee, Vinay Kumar, did not to respond to questions sent via electronic email to him on July 31.

Mr Kumar, when contacted yesterday, said he was away overseas and could not give a comment or confirm the festival dates.

“You can call me next week Monday or Tuesday, I’m currently overseas,” he said.

“I can’t comment on that right now. We’re working on it so whatever the decision is will happen when we make the decision.”
