THE Police Special Response Unit (PSRU) football team will part of the elimination rounds today at the Fiji Police Inter District Championship Police Academy grounds in Nasova, Suva yesterday.

Team captain Nitesh Narayan said the team was confident of winning this year’s tournament after causing an upset earlier yesterday.

“We have qualified for the semi-finals tomorrow and we are looking forward to winning, we already are confident of winning since we beat the Eastern team who were the defending champions last year,” said Narayan.

“We had last won the tournament back in 2016 so we really want this win,” said Narayan.

The team has players such as former and current national reps in Akuila Mateisuva, Simione Tamanisau, Madhvan Goundar, Tevita Waranivalu and Tupou Tagiduadua.

“It is quite a good team that we have because we have experienced players and we will try our best in the final day tomorrow (today) and move forward to get a win,” said Narayan.

Some results from Day 2: Western Division1 0-1 Northern Division, Central Division 0-0 Southern Division, PSRU 2-1 Eastern Division.
